I’ve already talked about my current night skin routine here. Today I want to talk about my morning routine. As I was saying in the night skincare routine post, your skin needs different products since its functions are a little different depending on the time of the day. On top of cleansing and moisturizing you skin needs protection from sun and pollution during the day. It also needs a little bit of exfoliating to remove dead skin cells so your makeup can last longer.
I use TATA HARPER REGENERATING CLEANSER for my morning routine. In fact, I am absolutely in love with her skincare line. I would ONLY use Tata Harper skincare if I could afford it. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly in my price range at the moment. It’s simply AMAZING! I’ve noticed my skin tone became more even after only few times of using it.
It smells like fresh oranges which is amazing for the mornings. It wakes you up right away and gets you in a better mood. It is an exfoliating cleanser that has apricot seed powder which is very gentle. The ingredients list includes enzymes (dissolves blackheads, reducing the look of your pores), salicylic acid (reduces inflammation and redness) and clay (detoxifies the skin).
You don’t have to use two different mists for day and night routines. One will do the job just fine. For me being a skincare junkie, it is a perfect excuse to buy two different ones for each routine. The one I use for night routine is HERBIVORE ROSE HIBISCUS COCONUT WATER. Farmacy skincare line is a recent find for me. The first product that I have ever bought from the brand was an eye cream which I totally loved. So I’ve decide to explore the brand further. Next purchase was HYDRATING ESSENCE MIST.
Compared to HERBIVORE’s coconut water (that is very flowery and calming) FARMACY’S hydrating mist has energizing and minty aroma. Which makes it another perfect product for the morning. Starting fresh! I apply it before moisturizer. It protects and soothes the skin while helping to set the makeup also. You can use it during the day to refresh your makeup and stop oil migration as well.
I’ve been using oils in my daily skincare routine for quite some time before it became a trend. Nowadays there are so many different oils and oil blends available on the market. I remember using almond oil to remove my eye makeup and avocado oil for my blemished skin. Right now oil blends are more sophisticated than ever. The prices are higher too but it’s the best investment you’ll ever make.
I was really impressed with all the reviews HERBIVORE PHOENIX OIL BLEND had when I checked it. All five stars reviews on their website with zero disappointed customers and 35 reviews on Sephora that praised the product. After long consideration (it is quite pricey) I’ve decided to purchase a 0.3 oz roller for $32.95 (with shipping) to give it a try. And was disappointed right away! Let me tell you this – don’t waste your money on it! Get a big one for $88 and you will not regret it. I have been loving it and my skin does too!
It consists of all good stuff like Rosehip Oil, antioxidant omegas 3, 6, & 9, trans-retinoid acid (prevents premature aging), Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil (the richest natural source of Beta Carotene available – which is Vitamin A that penetrates deep into the skin and restores it from within), COQ10 that supports the skin’s natural collagen production, and more.
I’ve noticed that my skin became more balanced and the skin tone more even after using HERBIVORE and TATA HARPER skincare. It does get a little oily now and then though that is why the OIL-CONTROL MATTIFIER from Murad is a great product for me. It regulates oil production throughout the day, while protecting skin from sun damage and clearing skin from impurities. I apply it in about 30 minutes after the face oil, letting the oil absorb properly first.
I really enjoy the trend in skincare products where the founders are also the scientists, the researches and developers who prefer to manufacture their products not far from home and keep an eye on all productions processes. The geeks, who know the process inside out and not afraid to take time (5 years for Ms. Harper, 16 years for Mr. Veeder) and deliver the best product possible. I hope this trend is here to stay.
