Cover it up | Lancôme foundation

I am a perfectionist. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile you would know it. I am totally ok with that but every system fails now and then. In my case my meticulousness gets on the way and works agains me. I’ve been looking for a perfect foundation for months. Not even exaggerating. I tried many samples but nothing really convinced me so in the end I’ve decided to go with the flow and get the one that had the best ratings and reviews. The Lancôme foundation I will be talking about is “Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear” foundation.

Lancôme is a very well-known and respected French luxury skin care, makeup and perfumes brand that was founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean. It was started as a perfume house but soon expanded to skin care and makeup. Nowadays it is part of the L’Oreal Luxury Products division and is one of the world’s largest skincare company.

How do I put it… IT’S AMAZING!!! Never in my life have I been so in love with my skin than after applying this foundation. And my skin is not an easy task – it can get really oily or, if I use foundation that is suppose to keep my oil production under control, it gets really dry and starts to peel. But with this one it’s not a problem at all. My skin does start to gleam a little by the end of the day but it is nothing compared to how oily it can get with other liquid foundations.

Another thing that really amazed me was the fact that you get so much coverage with so little product. In fact it doesn’t look that you applied foundation at all (of course considering you don’t apply way too much). It’s like foundation without foundation. The one I used before (and still use from time to time) was COVER FX Custom Cover Drops and although it is good for photoshoots it is not my favorite for every day wear. It can look caky.

To conclude it all, the foundation does look very natural, providing medium-to-full coverage that can last up to 24 hours depending on your skin and your typical day, of course. Mine needs little touch ups now and then but I put it through a cardio workout (I know, I know, you’re not suppose to wear makeup when you’re working out) and it still looked presentable after I was done.

The foundation formula is infused with perlite and silica that absorbs the oil, leaving your skin looking matte all day; it is not thick and not greasy and it took eight years to develop and perfect that formula. So after all, I think, the price tag is worth what’s inside.
