The weather is getting colder and the colors outside and on the blog are getting darker. I was a little worried about the Fall season since it is my first as a fashion blogger. So many things to figure out, main question being how to shoot in colder weather? Well, same as in Summer and Spring – you take your camera outside and you shoot. That being said, I only had an accident once so far. My camera fell down because of the strong wind. Fortunately it landed on the side and didn’t damage the lens. Only few scratches. Phew! But I am not taking any more chances and will be using a heavier tripod next time, avoiding windy days as much as I can.
MY WARDROBE AND I ARE TOTALLY READY FOR COLDER DAYS
It is still not exactly Fall weather in Midwest. Last night is was 70 degrees at 11 pm. Can you imagine?! But my wardrobe and I are totally ready for colder days. I love Fall mostly because it is an opportunity to wear all the beautiful coats and parkas. Military style is not exactly new. I have a military style coat from GUESS that I bought 7 years ago and it is still very stylish. My favorite thing to pair it with this season is flared pants. Oh flared pants! I just ABSOLUTELY love it! That’s why I didn’t even have one doubt in my mind what I was going to style this coat with for the photoshoot.
It is a long and heavy wool coat and I hesitated a little bit what to accessorize it with since the coat itself is a statement. Most accessories felt like they were “overcrowding” the outfit. That’s why I decided to minimize the accessories as much as possible – sunglasses, small stud earrings, a handbag and red lips, of course. This is a dark outfit with not that much of color going on, it was just asking for a pop, so dark red lips did the job perfectly.
I WOULDN’T SAY MILITARY COAT IS AN EVERY DAY COAT.
UNLESS YOU WANT IT TO BE.
Military coat is one of the must-have coats in my Fall Coats list. I wouldn’t say it is an everyday coat (unless you want it to be) but, as the time has shown, it is becoming a classic. Since this kind of coat is already a statement, the best way to accessorize it, in my opinion, is with fewer accessories – handbag, sunglasses and bright lipsticks. Let the coat do all the talking!
