PANTS WITH PRINT + SWEATERS

Usually, I wake up around 5:30 a.m. or 4:45 a.m., if I have an early morning cardio class at the gym. I then spend time doing yoga and meditation. By 6:30 or 7 a.m., I’m in my little office doing blog related work – writing, editing, planning, etc. I do that for about an hour and a half, before I have to rush to my full-time job. I say rush, because that’s how it feels. I get lost in my blogging world and forget about everything else. Lately, I’ve started to set timers on my phone, so I know when I need to stop what I’m focused on and to get ready for work. After work, I run some errands and by 7 p.m. I’m back at my office to do more blog work. It’s always a  life on the go for me. Of course, this kind of lifestyle calls for certain outfits. So you’re not only stylish, but comfortable and functionable at the same time.

In my previous blog post,  I was sharing my first go-to outfit for this fall. When I know that I’m going to have a crazy busy day ahead of me, I go for this second fall outfit. Which is obviously, a fun printed pant paired with a warm sweater. I guess a part of getting mature (I refuse to say “getting older”), is that you prefer to wear pants more often. Correct me if I’m wrong, but pants are way more comfortable and a tad bit more sophisticated. Wearing the right type of pants make you feel and look great, and as if you could conquer the world. Actually, that’s kind of true for any kind of clothing that makes you feel beautiful, but pants in particular. At least, for me. Printed pants look feminine and powerful, wearing them with a warm sweater is this season’s twist on a classic.

THE PANTS

Everyone knows my love for all things monochrome, but I’m slowly starting to add more colors from time to time. The same goes for prints. With prints, I find it’s more difficult to style compared to color. Not all prints look good on everyone, or you like the print itself, but the color is not your favorite. Plus, you also have to style it with other pieces of clothing that you’re wearing, so the whole look is in harmony. Thankfully, the pants that I’m wearing here were an easy choice. I like the big print, which is not overly busy. And they incorporate my favorite colors – black (naturally), red, green and blue. The pants are from BCBGMAXAZRIA fall collection.

THE SWEATER

My sweater is also by BCBGMAXAZRIA. Right away, I was starry-eyed with these sleeves. It’s definitely not your typical fall sweater. This sweater is very light, so it’s perfect for layering. Keep in mind, you would have to pull these sleeves out if you were to wear them with a coat. It definitely adds a fun element to your outfit. I absolutely never wear print on print, unless it’s a fun print like this where the striped-bottoms match the colors in the top. I will need to make a blog post someday on how to style prints, since it’s very challenging. But for now, my advice is to choose a solid colored top to compliment the print of your pants.

THE FOOTWEAR

If I wear clothing with a print, I like to keep everything else very simple and elegant. Same goes for this outfit. The print was already such a loud statement, I wanted to keep everything as minimal as possible. But don’t forget about another element that you can play with, the shape! Although these booties are simple, the stiletto heel is a statement itself. Since they’re black, it doesn’t take any attention away from the pants, but rather complements the power the pants represent. And the satin shine of the booties adds sophistication.

THE ACCESSORIES

My bag and earrings are from Mango. I’ve been shopping there a lot lately and highly recommend it too! The quality is fabulous and the price tags are reasonable. The handbags from Mango are truly amazing. The designs are simply unique and the quality isn’t bad either. Although, this bag may look like it would be worn with a cocktail dress, I think it’s much more versatile. In real-life, I would probably be wearing a huge work tote with this outfit. But for a shoot or going out for dinner, this bag is a perfect choice.
